DAVIDSON, N.C. – Coming off a 2-1 victory at league-leading Saint Joseph's, Davidson returns to Alumni Stadium this weekend for a 6 p.m. Atlantic 10 matchup against Massachusetts Saturday night.
Thanks to a pair of goals from Maxi Pragnell 32 seconds apart, the Wildcats picked up their first league win improving to 3-9-0 overall and 1-2-0 in the A-10.
In addition to Pragnell's second multi-goal performance of the season, the senior tri-captain leads the team and ranks second among conference leaders in scoring with six goals and 14 total points.
Andrew Kenneson was also impressive in Wednesday's victory, matching his career-high of 8 saves.
As a team, the Wildcats are averaging 2.33 goals per game dating back to their 3-1 win over Duke.
The Minutemen, who are unbeaten in their last four, come in with a 4-6-2 overall mark and 1-0-1 record in league play, following a 1-0 blanking of St. Bonaventure.
Three different players have found the back of the net twice this season for UMass, including Alex DeSantis, who also leads the club with four assists.
Davidson and the Minutemen have met just once on the pitch with the Wildcats winning 4-1 on Nov. 2, 2014.
