A-10 Names Bruce W. Soccer Player of the Week

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – After leading Davidson to a perfect week, senior midfielder Vicky Bruce was named Atlantic 10 Conference Women's Soccer Player of the Week Monday by the league.
Bruce led the Wildcats to a pair of road wins last week at Wofford and Georgia State, recording a goal and two assists. Against Wofford, the senior netted the game-winner in dramatic fashion with just one second remaining in the second overtime period for a 2-1 victory. She also recorded a career-high nine shots in the contest.
The Cornelius, N.C., native then notched two assists in Davidson's 3-1 win over Georgia State on Sunday. It was her second two-assist game of the season and third overall for her career.
Bruce leads the 'Cats with eight points (two goals, four assists) on the season and has taken 37 shots, good for second-most in the league.
The player of the week award was the Davidson women's soccer program's first in the Atlantic 10.
The Wildcats will finish out their non-conference schedule this Saturday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m. when they host Francis Marion at Alumni Stadium.
