Baseball Game Times Changed For Thursday And Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson baseball team will cap off the regular season with its final home series against the Richmond Spiders starting Thursday at 6 p.m. at Wilson Field.
The series is crucial for both teams as it determines fate in the Atlantic 10 Championship, which begins next week at George Mason starting Wednesday, May 20. The top seven A-10 teams qualify for the Championship with the No. 1 seed receiving a bye. For additional information, click here.

THE 'CATS
• The Wildcats enter their final series 24-19 overall and 12-9 in the A-10, coming off an impressive 17-4 victory over High Point last week.
• Outfielder Lee Miller leads the squad with a .368 batting average with 30 runs, 64 hits and 46 RBI in 174 at bats. Three other Wildcats have at least a .300 batting average in the Davidson line up.
• On the mound, RHP Ryan Lowe leads the team with a 3.13 ERA, allowing 24 runs off 43 hits with 34 strikeouts in 46.0 innings. LHP Clark Beeker, who has a 4.32 ERA, leads the team in innings pitched (83.1), while leading both the squad and conference in strikeouts looking (32).
• The Wildcats are currently tied for fourth in the weekly A-10 standings.
THE SPIDERS
• The Spiders enter the final series 26-21 overall and 14-7 in the A-10 and are coming off a series sweep against Dayton this past weekend.
• Outfielder Michael Morman leads the squad with a .369 batting average with 45 runs, 72 hits and 47 RBI in 195 at bats. He was most recently named A-10 Player of the Week for his performance against the Flyers. Four other Spiders are batting over .300 in the Richmond line up.
• On the mound, RHP Brendan McGuigan leads the team with a 2.18 ERA, allowing 15 runs off 33 hits with 40 strikeouts in 41.1 innings pitched. RHP Ryan Cook leads the squad with 74.0 innings pitched and has a 3.04 ERA.
• The Spiders are currently in a three-way tie for first in the A-10 standings. Eleven teams currently have 10-wins or more in the conference.
LAST TIME OUT
• After falling to Duke in 10 innings Tuesday, the Wildcats downed High Point 17-4 in non-conference action the day after at Wilson Field.
• Four Wildcats with three hits or more helped Davidson outhit the Panthers, 21-14. Shortstop Alec Acosta had a career night, leading both teams with a 4-for-6 performance with four runs scored. First baseman David Daniels, who finished the night 3-for-4 with three RBI, continued his home run streak by pushing it to three straight games after a three-run homer in the sixth.
• Seven Wildcats appeared on the mound for Davidson, including RHP Clark Beeker who pitched the first five innings and allowed only four hits for his sixth win of the season.
• Eight Panthers three for High Point, including RHP Carson Jackson who allowed four runs off six hits in the first 1.1 innings for his first loss of the season.
