Rademacher, Wildcats Close Season Out With 15-7 Win

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Behind a career-high six points from senior Emily Rademacher, the Davidson women's lacrosse team ended the 2015 season in winning style by earning a 15-7 victory on Senior Day against Atlantic 10 foe St. Bonaventure at Richardson Stadium Sunday afternoon.
The Wildcats concluded their first year in the A-10 with a 3-5 record, while going 6-10 overall on the season.
Rademacher and her fell senior teammates made sure their careers would end on a winning note as they helped carry the 'Cats to victory. Davidson scored the first four goals of the game and never looked back.
The midfielder matched her season high with three goals, while setting personal bests with three assists and six points. Seniors Emily Cooke and Catherine Schmidt each tallied a goal, with Cooke picking up her team-leading 18th assist. Schmidt tied her career highs in groundballs (4) and caused turnovers (2).
The senior duo of Sarah Duncan and Katy Boyle shined on the defensive end. Duncan scooped up a pair of groundballs, while Boyle stopped five shots in goal and recorded five groundballs to give her a team-high 45.
Matching Rademacher in the scoring column was Lucy Sexton with three of her own goals, while Nicole Pettiglio and Emma Sissman scored two goals each. Off the bench, Paige Farrar, Annie Brockett and Morgan Burch netted a goal apiece.
The Bonnies (2-15, 1-7 A-10) were paced by Scarlet Jaworski and Mary Maestri with two goals each. Mikayla Place picked up an assist to go with her goal.
The Wildcats opened a 4-0 lead through the first 15 minutes of action, getting two of those goals on free-position attempts from Sexton and Burch. The 'Cats would finish the game 4-of-9 overall in free-position shots.
The lead grew to six, 8-2, later on Sexton's 25th goal of the year, another free-position shot, before SBU scored one final goal to make 8-3 at the half.
Rademacher gave Davidson a 9-3 advantage with 28:28 on the clock to start the second half. Farrar doubled up the score on St. Bonaventure later with her seventh goal of the season to make it 12-6 with under 11 minutes to go.
Putting the game out of reach with a goal and an assist on the next two scores for Davidson was Rademacher to make it 14-6 with 2:56 left in the game. The senior ended the year with 27 goals and 12 assists for 39 points, pacing the team in goals and points.
Off the helper from Rademacher that made it 14-6, Cooke finished out her storied career with her 198th point to finish second all-time in the record books. She also leaves as the school's record holder for career assists with 123.
Davidson held advantages in shots (35-19), draw controls (15-9) and groundballs (29-26), while causing 10 turnovers on the Bonnies' 25 total turnovers.
The junior Sissman registered a season-high eight draw controls to give her a team-high 56. She is the all-time leader in program history with 195, while Rademacher finishes her career second on the list with 142.
