DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's tennis team gears up for their first go-around in the Atlantic 10 Women's Tennis Championship starting Thursday, April 16, in Charlottesville, Va., at the Boar's Head Sports Club.
The Wildcats (11-9, 3-2 A-10) earned the fourth overall seed out of 14 teams after being picked to finish eighth in the preseason poll. They will be seeking the program's first-ever tournament title after just missing out several times in the Southern Conference.
The 'Cats earned 6-1 league wins over George Washington, Saint Joseph's and George Mason, while falling to Richmond, (1-6) and Massachusetts (3-4). Those two teams are seeded second and third, respectively, in the tournament.
Davidson will open tournament play vs. 13th-seeded St. Bonaventure (6-12, 1-3 A-10) on Thursday, with match time set for 9 a.m. The Bonnies dropped six of their final eight matches, including league setbacks to Dayton and Saint Joseph's by the same score of 5-2.
If the Wildcats advance, they would take on the winner of fifth-seeded Fordham (10-6) and 12th-seeded Rhode Island (6-8), Friday at 10:00 a.m. in the quarterfinals.

The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
This will be Davidson's first matchup against St. Bonaventure, while it would also be its first-ever matches against either Fordham or Rhode Island should the 'Cats advance.
A-10 Tournament History
The Wildcats are making their first-ever appearance in the A-10 Tournament after playing in the Southern Conference since 1993. During their run the SoCon, the 'Cats had a 17-16 tournament record. In three of the last 10 league tournaments, they reached the finals, falling to Furman each time.
VCU has won the tournament the past two straight seasons and earned the No. 1 seed after being predicted to finish first in the preseason poll.
Scouting the Wildcat Women- Quick Hits
• Davidson finished with a 2-3 record in its last five regular season matches, getting wins at Brevard College (7-0) and against cross-county rival Charlotte at home, 4-1.
• The roster consists of just one senior as four freshmen see regular playing time in the rotation.
• Davidson's 11 wins on the season is the most since a 15-win campaign in 2010.
• Eight of those victories came at home, while the Wildcats went 2-3 on the road and 1-2 in neutral site matches.
• This is head coach Sara Anundsen's first year guiding the women's tennis program.
• The 'Cats as a team earned an outstanding 71 singles wins during the regular season, going 71-47 overall and 19-11 in A-10 matches.
• All but the No. 1 singles position collected over 10 wins each, with the No. 2 and 3 slots earning 15 victories apiece.
• The freshmen quartet of Anna Catharine Feaster, Ally Sexton, Cassidy Shell and Ava Todd went a combined 42-18 in singles play.
• Todd (18-2) and Feaster (14-6) led the team in wins, while also grabbing A-10 weekly awards a combined seven times.
• Todd, who took home four of the seven A-10 weekly awards, had a 16-match win streak in singles, which is the longest in the last 10 years of the program.Â
• The freshman also went a perfect 5-0 in league matches.
• Feaster had win streaks of five and seven matches in singles action and collected 13 of her 14 wins at the No. 2 position.
• She was also 4-1 in A-10 matches.
• No. 1 singles player junior Elaina Cummer was the third Wildcat to reach the 10-win mark in singles, finishing the regular season an even 10-10 to give her 27 career wins.
• The Wildcats' other top singles players during the regular season have been Jenna Brunner, who went 9-10 overall and Sarah Stein, who has an 8-7 mark.
• Davidson has been just as good in doubles this year, collecting 35 doubles wins throughout the regular season.
• The Wildcats' No. 2 doubles team of Feaster and Sexton are a team-best 15-5 and closed out the regular season winning their last five matches.
• The duo opened the year winning their first seven straight matches, including a season-opening 6-4 win over No. 57 Virginia Tech.
• The pairs of Brunner and Cummer at No. 1, and Stein and Todd at No. 3 are both tied with nine wins on the season.
• Brunner and Cummer opened the season with four wins in a row, while Stein and Todd have won four of the past six matches heading into the league tournament.
