Davidson Drops Close Decision at Fordham In Game Two

BRONX, N.Y. – The Davidson baseball team fell to the Fordham Rams, 2-1, in game two of the weekend series Saturday afternoon at Houlihan Park. The series is now tied at one after the Wildcats took a 5-3 victory Friday.
The loss drops Davidson to 15-14 overall and 5-6 in the league, while Fordham improved to 11-21 and 3-5 in the A-10.
RHP Brett Kennedy held the Wildcats to their six hits and one run with seven strikeouts in 8.1 innings pitched that secured the victory. Fordham outhit Davidson, 10-6, while the 'Cats committed one error.
Right fielder Mark Donadio went 4-for-4 with an RBI to lead both teams, while first baseman David Daniels led Davidson with one run and two hits, including a homerun in four at bats.
After a run in the first and third for Fordham, Daniels homered over the right field fence for the lone Wildcat score in the sixth.
LHP Rob Bain started for Davidson, allowing two runs and 10 hits with two strikeouts in 7.1 innings pitched for the loss. RHP Westin Whitmire threw the final two outs for the 'Cats.
The two teams will return to Houlihan Park tomorrow, April 12 at 12 p.m. for the final game of the series.
