Williams Sets Another School Record on Final Day

GAMBIER, Ohio – Sophomore Katy Williams set another school record to lead the Davidson swimming and diving program in the final day of the Total Performance Invitational Saturday evening at Steen Aquatic Center.
Williams, who recorded the top finish for the Wildcats, swam an impressive 2:13.89 in the 200 breaststroke to record a NCAA B standard time that broke her previous school record. This is the second record Williams set this weekend.
In addition to Williams, junior Elise Lankiewicz and senior Angie Healy recorded top-five finishes. Lankiewicz touched the wall at the 4:50.50 mark to place third in the 500 freestyle, while Healy took a time of 52.06 in the 100 freestyle.
In the final event of the invitational, Lankiewicz, Lauren Malachowski, Healy and Maggie Farrell put together a time of 3:26.98 in the 400 freestyle relay that capped off the night for the women.
The 400 freestyle relay team took the top finish for the men, as Luke Burton, Clay Resweber, Colin MacKay and Jake Perron recorded a time of 3:05.13 that placed sixth overall.
The women finished fourth with a team total of 1,124, while the men placed fifth with 672 points. Penn won the invitational on both sides.
The Wildcats will be back in action after the Christmas holiday when they travel to William & Mary on Jan. 16.
