DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson men's cross country team will continue its 2015 campaign at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic, hosted by Louisville at E.P. 'Tom' Sawyer Park. The 8K race will begin at 9:30 a.m.
Last Time Out
Competing at the annual Commodore Classic, Davidson finished in 11th place out of 20 teams, in a field that featured one nationally ranked team and six teams regionally ranked.
Daniel Samet turned in the top performance for the Wildcats as the senior raced to a 28th place finish with a time of 25:34.9. Will Brewster posted a time of 25:52.9 to take 42nd overall, while Ian Robertson registered a time of 26:11.1 to finish 57th. Walker Mogen and Dylan Carmack completed the top-five. Mogen captured 74th with a time of 26:29.9, with Carmack taking 96th after crossing in 26:46.2.
Scouting Davidson
Seniors Ryan Phillips and Daniel Samet have led the Wildcats turning in top performances at the Richmond Invitational and the Commodore Classic, respectively.
Davidson will also rely on junior Walker Mogen and sophomores Ian Robertson and Ramsay Ritchie to push the team to a strong result. Mogen contributed to the overall team finish at the Commodore Classic. Robertson has finished in Davidson's top-five at both events this season. Ritchie's seventh place finish at Richmond rounded out the top-five for the 'Cats.
Davidson also benefits from the early impact of newcomers. Will Brewster has finished in Davidson's top-five at two events this season, while freshman Dylan Carmack rounded out the scoring contingency in Nashville, Tenn.

Scouting the Field
A number of nationally and regionally ranked collegiate teams will provide solid competition for the Wildcats this weekend. Six teams are ranked in the most recent USTFCCCA national poll, including No. 4 Wisconsin, No. 8 Iona, No. 10 Michigan, No. 13 Mississippi, No. 22 Iowa State and No. 28 Eastern Kentucky. Additionally, five teams are receiving votes in the national poll - Eastern Michigan, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota and Penn State.
Honor Roll
Davidson has collected two Atlantic 10 Performer of the Week awards. Ryan Phillips and Daniel Samet have each garnered the award. Phillips earned the honor after taking first-place at the Richmond Invitational Sept. 5. Samet paced Davidson to an 11th-place finish against a competitive field at the Commodore Classic Sept. 19.
