Last Time Out
Davidson went 1-2 this past weekend at the Wake Forest Invitational. The Wildcats dropped a hard fought 3-2 decision to host Wake Forest after jumping out in front, 1-0. Davidson returned to the floor on Saturday to post a 3-0 victory over N.C. Central, but the Wildcats could not maintain its momentum, however, as the 'Cats fell to Presbyterian in the tournament finale, 3-1.
Wildcat Classic
Davidson boasts a 29-24 record over the 17-year history of the tournament and went 3-0 a year ago. The Wildcat's senior class of Sarah Roberts, Rachel Earnhardt and Anastasia Owen has been particularly adept at protecting its home floor at this tournament, owning a 7-2 mark.
Home Court Advantage
Davidson boasted an 8-4 record in the friendly confines of Belk Arena a year ago, marking the best home record since the 2005 squad went 10-5. Under current head coach Chris Willis, the Wildcats have posted a 26-22 (.541) mark at home.
Protecting the Net
Davidson dominated the net posting 31 total blocks in three games at the Wake Forest Invitational, while limiting their opponents to just 17 stops. The Wildcats currently rank third in the Atlantic 10 in blocks per set (2.32). Rookie Mary Harriet Moore leads the team in total blocks with 24, while averaging 1.09 blocks per set to rank tied for ninth in the conference.
Can you Dig It?
The 'Cats are averaging 16.86 digs per set, which is good enough for fourth in the Atlantic 10. Morgan Shannon earned the role for the Crimson at libero and has not disappointed, averaging a team-high 3.91 dps in 22 sets. Shannon registered a season-high 22 digs in Davidson's first match, a hard-fought 3-2 loss to Wake Forest.
All-Time Against the Field
The Wildcats and the Seahawks will face off for the 14th time in program history with the 'Cats holding a slim 7-6 advantage. The two teams met in 2012 when Davidson downed UNC Wilmington, 3-1.
Davidson trails UNC Charlotte, 15-10 in the series history. The Wildcats will look to notch its second consecutive win over the 49ers after a thrilling 3-2 win over their local rivals at the 2012 Wildcat Classic.
The 'Cats hold a 10-8 advantage over the Panthers of High Point. Last year at the High Point Invitational, Davidson handed the host a 3-0 defeat.

The Wildcats will head to Rock Hill, S.C., Tuesday Sept. 16 to take on Winthrop at 8 p.m., for one final tune up before the Atlantic 10 portion of the schedule begins Sept. 27 when VCU comes to Belk Arena.
