Two More Top-Fives at VertKlasse for 'Cats

HIGH POINT, N.C. – Davidson men's track and field earned two more top-five finishes on the second and final day of competition Saturday at The VertKlasse Meeting, hosted by High Point.
Charles Rappe had a busy day in the hurdles, competing in both the 400- and 110-meter events, ultimately placing fifth in the 110m finals in 15.14 seconds, earning a place on Davidson's top-10 all-time performers list in the event, after advancing out of the preliminaries earlier in the day (15.17). Rappe placed 13th in the 400m hurdles in 55.96 seconds.
Nate Faubion led the Wildcats in the 400-meter dash, placing fifth in 50.83. He also competed in the 200-meter dash (23.53).
Xzavier Killings led Davidson in the jumps, placing sixth with a top leap of 43 feet, 1 ½ inches (13.14m) in the triple jump, and eighth in the long jump at 21-7 ½ (6.59m). He also competed in the 100-meter dash (11.40 seconds).
Also in the field, Michael Lorentsen placed eighth in the pole vault, clearing 14 feet (4.27m).
Additionally, Patrick Rollo led Davidson in the 800-meter run in 1:54.63 to place 10th, and Stewart Dalton led in the 100-meter dash in a personal-best 10.95 seconds, earning a place on Davidson all-time top-10 performers list.
On Friday, Whitner Chase completed the 5,000-meter run in 15:06.34 to place fifth, while Aaron Forburger gave Davidson another top-10 finish by placing ninth in 15:29.40.
The Wildcats also received a strong distance performance from Grayam Sailor-Tynes, who completed the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a Davidson top-10 all-time and personal-best time of 9:21.24.
Jonathan Campbell also earned a top-10 placing in the javelin, ranking eighth with a top throw of 162 feet, 7 inches.
Additionally, freshman Walker Mogen led the 'Cats in the 1,500-meter run, in 4:02.53.
Davidson will next compete Thursday in the Carolinas Cup, hosted by Winthrop, and Saturday in the Blue Shoes Collegiate Meet, hosted by Furman.
