RALEIGH, N.C./ ROCK HILL, S.C. – Davidson set a new school standard in the 4x1,500-meter relay at the Raleigh Relays hosted by NC State, while several Davidson men's track and field team members competed at the Winthrop Invitational Saturday.

Patrick Rollo, Will McDuffie, Walker Mogen and Grayam Sailor-Tynes completed the middle-distance relay in 16 minutes, 12.00 seconds, to place ninth and shatter the previous Davidson record (16:39.06), set back in 2006, by 27.06 seconds.

Charles Rappe also competed in Raleigh, completing the 400-meter hurdles in 55.94 seconds.

The Wildcats also concluded competition at the Winthrop Invitational, led by another strong relay effort, as Greg Sargent, Ben Corson, Wesley Laytham and Nate Faubion placed fifth in the 4x400-meter run in 3:26.99.

Laytham also led three Wildcats in the 800-meter run, placing eighth in 1:56.59.

On Friday, Andrew Lantz competed in the 1,500-meter run at the Raleigh Relays, where he turned in yet another Davidson all-time top-10 performance, placing 16th in 3:51.77.

At Winthrop, Stewart Dalton and Xzavier Killings both had busy days competing in three events, as they led the Wildcats in the 100- and 200-meter dashes and the long jump. Dalton posted the top times in the 100m (11.38 seconds) and the 200m (23.35), but Killings bested him in the long jump, leaping 21 feet (6.40m) to place 10th. Dalton (20-7 ¼, 6.28m) placed 12th.
