Davidson to Battle Duke Tuesday

- Davidson is playing its fifth consecutive mid-week game against an ACC opponent, beginning a home-and-home series against Duke. Davidson will visit Duke on April 15. Duke head coach Chris Pollard '96 is a Davidson baseball alum.

The Wildcats opened their season at Wake Forest and allowed an unearned run in the bottom of the ninth inning before ultimately losing, 4-3, in the 12th inning. Davidson was also competitive against No. 6 NC State, losing 7-5, and also faced No. 15 North Carolina (L, 3-13). The 'Cats earned their first ACC win since sweeping Duke in 2012 against Wake Forest (3/19), 7-6.
- The Wildcats are 13-4 at Wilson Field this season, winning 11 their last 12 home games. Davidson has won 10 out of its last 11 games overall.

THE SERIES
VS. DUKE: Davidson trails in the all-time series, which dates back to 1902, 30-110-1, but has won five out of the last eight meetings. The Wildcats swept the home-and-home series in 2012, but were defeated at Duke, 3-9, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park last season. The return game at Wilson Field was rained out after just three pitches.
SCOUTING DUKE
The Blue Devils are 14-11 this season and 4-5 in the ACC. They played tough in a three-game series with No. 1 Virginia (Mar. 8-9), winning one game by a run and losing the other two by just one run. However they were swept at Pittsburgh this past weekend and are 0-2 against SoCon opponents this season. Jordan betts leads the team with a .348 batting average. Matt Berezo brings a five-game hitting streak into Tuesday's contest, registering multiple hits in each of those five contests. Chris Marconcini has driven in an ACC-leading 27 RBIs in addition to leading the league with six home runs. As team, Duke sports a 2.73 ERA.SCOUTING DUKE
