DAVIDSON, N.C. — Mackenzie Latt and Hannah Early registered their second straight double-doubles together in helping lead Davidson to a 67-62 comeback victory against Mount St. Mary's Sunday afternoon in John M. Belk Arena in women's basketball.

Latt, coming off 21-point, 15-rebound game in a win Thursday at Gardner-Webb, had 14 points and 10 rebounds Sunday, while Early scored a game-high tying 16 points and pulled in a season-best 11 rebounds. The duo helped the Wildcats (2-2) erase a 10-point halftime deficit by combining for 19 points, 11 rebounds and three blocks in the second half.

Dakota Dukes scored all 12 of her points for the game in the second half and freshman Diona Johnson had a season-high 11 points off the bench to give Davidson four double-digit scorers.

Mount St. Mary's (0-4) also put four in the double-digit scoring column, with Jacqueline Brewer netting 16 points, while Jenn Carney and Kathleen Belanger-Finn each scored 15. The trio hit seven of the Mount's eight three-pointers for the game. Sarafina Arthur-Williams chipped in 11 points.

Down 33-23 coming out of the break, Davidson scored 21 of the first 33 points in the new half to close within one, 45-44, after Early canned her second triple of the game. The junior scored nine points in the first six minutes of the new period.

The Wildcats then took control with under 12 minutes to go behind Johnson, who scored seven points in a 9-0 run, turning a 48-44 deficit into a 53-48 score in favor of the 'Cats.

Davidson maintained the lead the rest of the way, though Mount St. Mary's trimmed a 64-57 lead to two points (64-62) after a three-pointer by Carney with 51 ticks left. Latt and Dukes iced the game by hitting 3-of-4 free throws in the closing seconds for the victory.

Despite hitting just 5-of-20 shots to open the game, Davidson held a brief 14-13 edge on an Early five-foot jumper off an inbounds pass from Kayla Seymour, who dished out a career-high six dimes.

But, Davidson continued to struggle from the field and Mount St. Mary's took advantage. The Mount went on an 18-4 run over a five-minute span to grab a 31-18 lead with 2:44 left in the half. They hit six free throws and four three-pointers during run.

The 'Cats finished the half shooting just 25 percent (8-32) and went into the break down 33-23.

Davidson pulled in 43 rebounds to the Mount's 28, getting a season-best 24 of those boards on the offensive end. The Wildcats turned those into 24 second-chance points.

The Wildcats also shook off their cold-shooting first half to hit 48.3 percent in the second half and finish the game at 36.1 percent. Mount St. Mary's finished at a 39.5 percent clip, while going 20-for-22 at the free-throw line.

Davidson wraps up a busy past few days with a home contest against High Point Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m.

GAME NOTES: Davidson is 2-0 in the series vs. the Mount … of Early's 11 rebounds, a career-best seven were on offense, while Latt had six offensive boards … the Wildcats are in the midst of playing three games in a six-day span, and four games overall in a nine-day span … Dukes finished 8-for-11 at the free throw line, a team season-best.
