- The Davidson field hockey team will step out of Atlantic 10 play Wednesday night when James Madison visits Belk Turf Field at 6 p.m.

For the first time ever, the remainder of Davidson's home games will be streamed live and in HD quality through the Atlantic 10 Network for free.  Fans who cannot attend Wildcat games in person can tune in from anywhere by clicking here to catch Davidson field hockey in action. 

Stick it to Cancer
In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Wednesday's game will be Davidson's annual Stick it to Cancer contest. T-shirts will be sold for $15 and all proceeds will benefit the Connor House Bosom Buddies, a student-run non-profit service initiative dedicated to spreading awareness about breast cancer, the importance of early detection, to aid and support those currently suffering from breast cancer, and to raise research funds for Friends for an Earlier Breast Cancer Test, a Greensboro-based organization that works toward finding alternative methods of earlier breast cancer detection.

About Davidson
The Wildcats (2-9, 1-2 A-10) split a pair of matchups last weekend, including its first Atlantic 10 victory of the season in a 1-0 shutout at Saint Louis. Becca Jones leads Davidson with eight points on three goals and two assists, while Katherine English has registered five points (two goals, one assist). Eight Wildcats have contributed a goal or an assist this season.

Last Time Out
Melissa Funsten had the lone goal as the Wildcats picked up their first conference win of the year at Saint Louis. Emily Leytham earned her first career shutout, finishing the afternoon with seven saves.
 
The next day, senior Kaity Anstrome scored her first goal of the season to even the score 1-1 against Missouri State, but the Bears found the back of the cage to eventually win, 2-1.  Davidson was edged in shots, 17-5, and penalty corners, 10-3, on the afternoon.
 
It's Leytham's Cage
Emily Leytham has been tough to beat in the Davidson cage this season. The junior ranks among the leagues best in two categories, including saves per game (7.80, 1st), while owning a .796 save percentage, good for third in the conference and seventh in the country.
 
Herder to the Rescue
Senior co-captain Madeline Herder has recorded a career-high four defensive saves. The defender ranks first in the conference and fifth in the country with an average of 0.40 defensive saves per game.
 
About James Madison (7-3, 1-1)
James Madison has a high-powered offense, scoring 3.80 goals per game to rank second in the nation, led by Taylor West and Loes Stijntjes. West and Stijntjes rank tied for eighth in the country with 2.40 points per game and tied for fifth with 1.00 goals per contest. In the cage, Hannah George owns a .600 save percentage, while allowing 2.24 goals per game.
 
All-Time Series
James Madison leads the all-time series against Davidson, 4-1. The Dukes have won the last three meetings between the two schools, with Davidson's only win coming in 1992.
 
Looking Ahead
Davidson continues its homestand Saturday, Oct. 11, when the Wildcats take on Atlantic 10 foe Lock Haven at noon.
