Wildcats to Host Final CCSA Duals this Weekend

DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming & diving team will host Howard (men & women), Liberty (women) and Georgia Southern (women) in the final showing of the CCSA Duals this weekend at Cannon Pool. The event, ending due to the Wildcats' impending move to the Atlantic-10, will start at 6 p.m. Friday evening and continue at 11 a.m. Saturday morning.

Scouting the Bison
The Howard men's team enters the meet 0-12 on the season and 0-2 in CCSA action after falling to NJIT and VMI earlier in the season. The team is led by Timothy Miller, who ranks in the top-16 of the CCSA in the 100-yard backstroke. The women are 0-13 overall and 0-2 in the CCSA and are led by Ayana Cox in the backstroke events and Ashley Douglas in the sprint freestyle events.
Scouting the Eagles
Georgia Southern enters the duals 7-2 on the season and 4-1 in CCSA action with wins against Radford, Gardner-Webb, UNC Asheville and North Florida. Kristin Bates was recently named Swimmer of the Week and qualified for the NCAA B cut in the 100-yard breaststroke, while Sara Meisenhelder and Amanda Macchio have both previously been named CCSA Divers of the Week.
Scouting the Flames
Liberty arrives in Davidson 6-4 this season and boasting an undefeated record at the event in both 2012 (6-0) and 2013 (5-0). Emilie Kaufman leads the CCSA in the breaststroke events, while Jessica Reinhardt is among the league leaders in the butterfly. Kaufman, Reinhardt and Meghan Babcock, a leader in the freestyle events, have all earned CCSA honors this season.
Wildcat Notes
Luke Burton and Brian McRae recently earned CCSA accolades for leading the Wildcats in their win over league rival Gardner-Webb. Burton was a member of a pair of winning relays and won the 100-yard backstroke, while McRae swept the diving events… Diver Kaliya Burton-Akright qualified for the NCAA Zone meet against GWU.
