DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team looks to continue their season as well as collect the program's first postseason victory when the Wildcats travel to play Old Dominion Thursday, March 21, at 7 p.m. in the Ted Constant Convocation Center as part of the first round of the Women's National Invitation Tournament.
Davidson (21-12) will be playing ODU (19-11) for the first time as it makes its second straight postseason appearance and third overall. The Lady Monarchs are making their 20th postseason appearance in the last 22 seasons.

•Davidson enters the 2013 Women's NIT with a 21-12 record after going 2-1 at the SoCon Tourney.
•It earned an automatic bid into the WNIT after Chattanooga won the SoCon Tournament.

•The senior was the Defender of the Year for a second consecutive season. She led the league in blocks (school-best 99) and rebounds (single-season school-record 331, 10 rpg).
•Aleksandravicius was named to the SoCon First Team on both the coaches and media teams, becoming the first Wildcat to accomplish the feat.
•Laura Murray was an all-conference pick by the coaches and a second-team pick by the media.
•Dakota Dukes was named to both the coaches and media SoCon All-Freshman Team.
WNIT History...
•The 'Cats are making their third appearance in the Women's National Invitational Tournament.
•Last year Davidson traveled to James Madison in the opening round, falling 64-49. The 'Cats led 29-28 in the second half, before JMU used a 19-7 run to take control of the contest.
•Aleksandravicius had a season-best 25 points, 17 in the second half, and added nine boards.
•Davidson made its first-ever postseason appearance back in 2006-07, with an at-large bid into the WNIT, on its way to a school-best 23-9 record.
Last Time Out...
•The 'Cats suffered a heartbreaking loss in the SoCon finals on a last-second shot by Chattanooga, falling 64-63. It was just the program's second-ever appearance in the finals,with 1999 being the last.
•Davidson led the majority of the game, leading 63-58 with 2:13 left before seeing UTC score the final six points to win. Davidson got one-last shot, but Murray's 15-footer fell short at the buzzer.
•Murray scored a game-high 22 points, canning four triples. Aleksandravicius had her third straight double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds to go with four boards.

•ODU returns seven of its nine letterwinners, including three starters from last year's 11-21 squad (7-11 CAA).

•She previously was the head coach at Elon.

•The Monarchs are led by sophomore forward Shae Kelley, who was named to the All-CAA Second Team and to the All-Defensive Team
