DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson wrestling team will host another tri-meet Saturday as new conference foe SIUE and a familiar rival in Duke will challenge the Wildcats starting at 11 a.m. in Belk Arena.
Davidson and SIUE will square off in a conference match at 11 a.m., and then Duke and SIUE will battle each other immediately following at 12:30 p.m. The meet will conclude with Davidson and Duke beginning at 2 p.m.
All three matches will be video streamed.
Scouting the Wildcats: Davidson (5-8, 0-3 SoCon) is looking to snap a seven-match losing streak after starting the season 5-1. Scott Patrick (184 pounds) boasts the top record on the squad at 13-6, and also leads the team with five pins. This will be the first-ever meeting with SIUE, which is competing against a full SoCon schedule for the first time this season. The Davidson-Duke rivalry, which dates back to 1963-64, will see its 21st installment, but the Wildcats are just 2-18.

Scouting the Cougars: Southern Illinois Edwardsville is 2-12 overall and 1-2 in SoCon competition and is on a six-match losing streak. The Cougars defeated another SoCon newcomer, Gardner-Webb, 24-21 earlier in the season, but suffered a loss to Appalachian State and, most recently, was defeated at The Citadel, 3-41 on Wednesday. Patrick Myers (133 pounds) leads the team with a 13-7 record.

Scouting the Blue Devils: Duke (4-5, 0-2 ACC) has won its last two matches, downing a SoCon school in Appalachian State and then defeating Boston University, 30-13. The Blue Devils' other two wins came against Stevens Tech and VMI. Immanuel Kerr-Brown (157 pounds) leads the team with an 18-11 record, while 133-pounder Brandon Gambucci leads the team with six pins to go along with an 11-3 record.

Up Next: Davidson will compete at Chattanooga Sunday, Feb. 10 in its final road match of the season, and will conclude the regular season with four consecutive home meets, starting Valentine's Day at 7 p.m. against Campbell.
