Lantz Shatters Davidson 1500M Record at Duke Twilight

DURHAM, N.C. – Davidson sophomore Andrew Lantz placed second in the men's 1500-meter run in a school-record time of 3:47.66 Sunday in the Duke Twilight track & field meet in Wallace Wade Stadium.
The time bested the previous Davidson 10-year old standard set by Dan Gibson of 3:49.28.
Senior Ian Tupper also competed in the 3000-meter steeplechase, placing eighth in 9:18.44. The time ranks second all-time at Davidson, as Tupper set the school record of 9:14.39 last season.
Select Wildcats will next compete in the Virginia Challenge hosted by the University of Virginia on Saturday attempting to qualify for the NCAA Regionals.
