Lorentsen Wins Pole Vault at Winthrop Invitational

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Sophomore Michael Lorentsen won the pole vault to lead the Davidson men's track and field team on the final day of the Winthrop Invitational Saturday at the John Belk Track Complex.
Lorentsen posted a Davidson all-time top-10 best mark of 13 feet, 11 ¼ inches (4.25m) to win.
Senior Taylor Martin also had a strong day, placing third in the 400-meter dash in 49.79 seconds and placing sixth in the 400-meter hurdles in 57.14 seconds.
The Wildcats also claimed three of the top-five places in the 1500-meter run, led by junior Wes Reynolds in 4:00.35. Freshman Sal del Giudice (4:01.11) and junior Will Mitchell (4:01.62) took fourth and fifth, respectively.
Davidson will next compete at the Duke Invitational and the Terrier Relays Friday and Saturday.
