Lantz Leads Davidson Men’s Track and Field at Charlotte 49er Classic

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Junior Wes Reynolds won the 3000-meter run and sophomore Andrew Lantz earned a pair of second place finishes in the middle distance events to lead Davidson men's track and field at the Charlotte 49er Classic Friday and Saturday.
Lantz posted times that ranked among the top-10 best in Davidson history in the 800- and 1500-meter runs. He completed the 800m in 1:51.75 and the 1500m in 3:52.12. Junior Demetrios Pagonis placed fifth in the 1500 in 3:54.77.
Reynolds placed first in 8:43.82 in the 3000m.
Sophomore Michael Lorentsen also earned a top-10 finish in the pole vault, placing in a tie for 10th place with a top mark of 13-1 ½ (4.0m)
The meet opened the outdoor season for Davidson. The 'Cats will next compete in The Vertklasse Meeting at High Point Saturday.
