DAVIDSON, N.C. — Coming off a thrilling last-second 14-13 win vs. Siena last Saturday, Davidson will look for its third straight win when it hosts Lafayette Wednesday evening at Richardson Stadium in women's lacrosse.

The Opening Draw Control
Davidson (3-3), winners of three of its past four games, concludes a six-game homestand with a matchup against Lafayette (4-3) on Wednesday at 6 p.m. So far the 'Cats are 3-2 in the six-game stand.

The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
The two schools have faced each other three times since the series opener in 2006, with the 'Cats holding a 2-1 advantage. Last year saw the Leopards earn their first win in the series, 11-8, on Davidson's home field.

Last Time Out...
... Davidson — With time running down, Ann Fucigna drove into the half circle from the left side and fired in the game-winning goal with 29 ticks left and Davidson overcame a three-goal deficit in the second half to earn a thrilling 14-13 victory on Saturday afternoon.

After Fucigna caused a turnover with 2:44 on the clock, Davidson called a timeout. Out of the break, the Wildcats ran the clock all the way down to 35 seconds, when Fucigna, behind the goal on the left side, raced in past the defense and fired a shot that went through the legs of the Saint's goalie for the winning score.

Freshman Mary Leonard had her second straight three-goal game, and added an assist for a season-best four points. In all, eight Wildcats found the back of the net.

... Lafayette Jessica Rothstein's goal with two minutes to play in the second overtime period gave Lafayette a 17-16 sudden-victory over Duquesne on Saturday evening at Rappolt Field.  Rothstein's goal was her fifth of the contest and set a new career-high for the junior attacker.

Lafayette's triumph, and Rothstein's score, was made possible when sophomore Ana White netted her second goal of the game as time expired in the initial overtime session. Trailing 16-15 with three seconds remaining, White was fouled in the Leopards' offensive end and was awarded an eight-meter attempt. Her first shot was denied by Duquesne netminder Liz Walker, but White pounced on the rebound and shot the ball past Walker to send the game into double OT.

Laura Kleiber put Lafayette ahead 15-14 at 5:26, but Haley Marafioti sent the game into overtime with her goal with 94 seconds remaining.

Each team scored one goal apiece in the first overtime to force the sudden-death second overtime.
