DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson Wildcats begin their quest to defend their Southern Conference Regular Season Title, which they shared with Appalachian State, when they play host to Georgia Southern Saturday at 4 p.m. in their home and SoCon opener at John M. Belk Arena.
The Wildcats (1-4, 0-0 SoCon) are fresh off a five-game road swing to open the year, the longest since an eight-game swing to open the 2009-10 campaign.
The Wildcats have already faced some tough national competition, playing North Carolina to open the Preseason WNIT, which took home the preseason tournament title and is currently ranked No. 22 in the Associated Press Top 25, and at Rugters after Thanksgiving. Rutgers was ranked 23rd at the end of last year and is recieving votes in the lastest AP Poll.
Game Notes: Quick Hits...
•This is the fifth time Davidson has played the Eagles to open league play.
•The Wildcats are coming off a school-record 12-1 home mark last year.
•They are currently riding a five-game win streak, and dating back to the 2010-11 season, have won 16 of their last 18 games.
