DAVIDSON, N.C. – The Davidson swimming & diving teams will kick off the home portion of their schedule on Saturday afternoon when they host Coastal Collegiate Swimming Association foe the College of Charleston in a 2 p.m. meet at Cannon Pool.
 
LAST WEEK
Both squads opened up dual meet action with losses at East Carolina, with the women falling 107-185 and the men taking a 100-186 loss to the Pirates. Meredith Nakano posted a win in the 200-yard breaststroke and was the runner-up in the 100-yard event, while Kaliya Burton-Akright won the 1-meter diving and took second in the 3-meter event. Thomas Bigham won the 100-yard butterfly, while Drew Onken swam the top time in the 400-yard IM and took second in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events.
 
ONKEN EARNS SECOND CCSA HONOR
For the second time in as many weeks, Drew Onken was named the CCSA Men's Swimmer of the Week for his performance vs. the Pirates.  Onken took first in the 400-yard individual medley, touching the pads in 4:06.56 and then placed second in both the 100- and 200-yard breaststroke events. He clocked in at 59.12 in the 100-yard event before finishing with a time of 2:09.31 in the longer race.  Onken later joined teammates Ethan Levinson, Brandon Kegley and Will Fox to take third place in the 200-yard medley relay in a time of 1:37.90

UP NEXT
Both squads will continue with CCSA competition, hosting Virginia Military Institute in a pair of dual meets on November 11.  The 'Cats and the Keydets are set to square off at 1 p.m. at Cannon Pool.
