GREENVILLE, N.C. – Kaliya Burton-Akright and Meredith Nakano each picked up a win as the Davidson women's swimming & diving team fell to East Carolina 107-185 and the men's squad lost by a score of 100-186 on Saturday afternoon.
 
Burton-Akright picked up a win in the one-meter diving, scoring 247.58 points. She was also second in the three-meter event, recording 250.70 points. Nakano won the 200-yard breaststroke in a time of 2:23.24. She was also the runner up in the 100-yard breaststroke, clocking in at 1:07.41.
 
In the 1,000-yard freestyle, Dylan Ludwick took second place with a time of 9:43.95 followed by teammate Max Schimanski in fourth in 9:49.43. Ludwick also took second in the 500-yard free in 4:48.05. Luke Burton finished third in the 100-yard backstroke, touching the pads in 54.51.
 
Drew Onken and Spencer Gill took second and third, respectively, in the 100-yard breaststroke. Onken recorded a time of 59.15 with Gill close behind in 1:00.27.  Onken was also the runner-up in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:09.31. Gill was again just behind him in third place with a time of 2:11.93.
 
Thomas Bigham out-touched Burton to take first in the 100-yard fly with a time of 54.15, while Onken was the top finisher in the 400-yard IM with a 4:06.56. Ludwick combined with Cameron Bard, Quinn Waggoner and Brandon Kegley for a time of 3:15.59 to take home top honors in the 400-yard free relay.
 
Allison Cottle swam to a third place finish in the 1000-yard free with a time of 10:56.70, while Lauren Malachowski touched third in the 100-yard free with a 53.64. Liz Mace finished just ahead of Kelsi Hobbs, taking first in the 100-yard butterfly with a mark of 59.85.
 
Mackenzie Robinson was the top finisher in the 400-yard IM, touching the wall in 4:47.46. Mace, Nakano and Cottle teamed with Jean DeOrnellas to swim a 3:38.01 in the 400-yard freestyle for top honors in the event.
 
The Wildcats will open up their home slate next Saturday when they host CCSA foe the College of Charleston at Cannon Pool in a 2 p.m. meet.
