Swimming and Diving Hosts CCSA Duals Saturday

DAVIDSON, N.C. - The Davidson Swimming and Diving teams will host the CCSA duals Saturday in Cannon Natatorium with the first event set to start at 1 p.m.
Davidson's women will compete against Georgia Southern, Liberty, Campbell, Radford, Howard, and North Carolina A&T, while the men face off against the Bison of Howard University.
The Wildcat women are coming off a 170-124 victory over Gardner-Webb in Cannon Natatorium last Saturday. Meredith Nakano led the way for Davidson and was named CCSA Swimmer of the Week after winning three individual events. The freshman won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.45 before taking first-place in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53.22. She also won the 100-yard fly, clocking in at 57.88 for her final first-place finish.
The Davidson men also defeated Gardner-Webb last Saturday, by a score of 196-89. Geoffery Peitz was named CCSA Swimmer of the Week, and Tim Keating earned conference Diver of the Week.
Peitz won a pair of individual events and two relay events in Davidson's win over the Bulldogs. The senior took home first place in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 50.87 before touching in at 1:51.21 in the 200-yard backstroke. In the 200-yard medley relay, Peitz swam the first leg with a split time of 23.64. He then swam the first leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay with a split time of 21.71.
Keating won the 3-meter dive and placed second in the 1-meter dive. The junior posted a season-best score of 179.55 on the 3-meter board before earning 158.87 on the 1-meter board.
This will be the last regular-season meet for the Wildcats, who swim at the CCSA Championships, Feb. 16-18.
