DAVIDSON, N.C. — Junior Erin Keitel (Carlsbad, Calif.) had career bests of five goals, two assists and seven points, and Davidson rolled to its first National Lacrosse Conference win of the season with a 20-9 triumph over visiting Detroit Mercy on Friday evening at Richardson Stadium in women's lacrosse.

Keitel was one of five 'Cats (2-9, 1-2 NLC) on the evening to register two or more goals in helping Davidson snap a four-game losing streak.

The junior midfielder pushed her season totals to 15 goals, four assists and 19 points as she registered a team season-high with her seve points and tied the team season bests in goals and assists. She was part of an early six-goal scoring barrage at the beginning of the game that gave Davidson a commanding 6-0 lead through the first eight minutes of the contests, and it never looked back. Keitel netted two of the six goals and had one of the Wildcats' three free-position goals in the run.

Joining Keitel in the scoring column was Alanna Parker (Spring Valley, Calif.) with four goals, tying a season-best for the sophomore. She also pushed her consecutive goal streak to 19 straight games dating back to the end of last season.

The freshman duo of Erin Doherty (Cincinnati, Ohio) (3) and Ann Fucigna (Darien, Conn.) (2) had a combined five goals, while junior tri-captain Jenna Mugele (Baltimore, Md.) rounded out the multi-goal scorers with two goals. Mugele also tied Keitel with a pair of assists, a season-best for the junior.

Detroit (1-7, 0-3 NLC) was led by Emily Boissonneault's game-high six goals, giving her 26 on the season. Lindsey Saunders had two goals, while Corina Mahorn added the last Titan goal.

The closest the Titans got to Davidson was 6-2 at the 16:50 mark of the first half, but the Wildcats rattled off six more goals to close the half up 12-4.

Scoring her first collegiate goal before the half ended was Liz Edwards (Cincinnati, Ohio), who also tallied her first career assist in the second half on Jessica Palfrey's (Bronxville, N.Y.) fifth goal of the year, which pushed the lead out to 17-7 with under 17 minutes left in the game.

Parker capped off the season-best in goals for Davidson with two scores in the last 10 minutes for the final of 20-9.

The 'Cats also recorded season bests in assists (7), shots on goal (25) and draw controls (19). Doherty, who had six, led the way in draw controls, while Paige Logan (Garden City, N.Y.) hauled in four.

Seeing their first action of the season was the duo of Natalie Williford (Woodside, Calif.) and Rebecca Garman (Baltimore, Md.), with Garman hauling in a groundball in the winning effort.

Fellow freshman Carlee Simon (Owings Mills, Md.) and sophomore Abigail Doelger (West Hartford, Conn.) each earned their first collegiate starts. Simon finished with a goal, the second of her young career, and a draw control, while Doelger picked up one of the Wildcats' 14 groundballs.

Between the pipes, goalie Jessica Melby (Pittsburgh, Pa.) finished with nine saves and the Titans' Marybeth Flanagan closed with five.

The Wildcats close out the two-game homestand with a NLC contest on Sunday vs. Howard as they are dedicating the game to the One Love Foundation. Gametime is set for 1 p.m.
