DAVIDSON, N.C. - Jake Cohen posted 17 points, seven rebounds, five blocked shots, four assists and three steals to lead Davidson to an 85-65 men's basketball victory over James Madison in the 2011 CBI Presented by Zebra Pen at Belk Arena Tuesday night.

The Wildcats will play at Creighton in the second round of the tournament Monday, March 21.

JP Kuhlman netted 14 points, and Chris Czerapowicz collected 14 points and four rebounds for the Wildcats (18-14).

Frank Ben-Eze tied a career-high with nine points to go along with four rebounds, while Brendan McKillop and Nik Cochran each scored nine.

Devon Moore led the Dukes (21-12) with 14 points and added nine rebounds, and Denzel Bowles collected 12 points and nine boards.

Davidson shot 50 percent for the game and netted 31 points off 17 JMU turnovers. The Dukes were held to 38 percent shooting from the field, including 31 percent in the second stanza.

Davidson also made 11-of-24 3-pointers while holding JMU to 2-for-9 from behind the arc.

The Wildcats used a 15-7 run that capped the first half and a 31-11 spurt after James Madison scored the first point of the second frame to build a 27-point cushion with 10:20 left in the contest.

Consecutive triples by McKillop and De'Mon Brooks sparked the first run, and another one from Cohen capped it as the 'Cats turned a 27-27 tie into a 10-point lead.

After Rayshawn Goins made a free throw to open the second stanza, Kuhlman netted five straight points to start the 31-11 run. Czerapowicz scored 11 points during the stretch, including two conventional 3-point plays and a 3-pointer.

The 27-point cushion was the largest lead of the game for the Wildcats, and the advantage never dipped below 20 for the rest of the game.

Notes: Davidson improved to 10-3 in Belk Arena this season and has won 26 of its last 28 games against non-conference competition there… Czerapowicz's point total was two away from his career high… Cohen's four blocked shots were one shy of his career high… McKillop needs 10 triples to move past his brother, Matt, into third on Davidson's career list.
