
Davidson Falls 6-1 on the Road vs. Brown in W. Tennis

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Playing for the first time this year on the road, the Davidson women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 match at Brown on Saturday afternoon.
Davidson dropped its fourth straight match to fall to 3-5 on the year, while Brown, now 2-0 vs. the Wildcats in the all-time series, improved to 2-4.
The Bears' Bianca Aboubakare guiding Brown to the win with a record-breaking performance. She scored wins in both singles and doubles to set the school's career singles wins record and also tied the career doubles wins mark. She already is Brown's career combined wins record holder (157).
Davidson fell behind 1-0 in the match after dropping all three doubles matches. The Wildcats scored just a total five games in the three matches.
Freshman Brites Moniz-Soares (Angra Do Heroismo, Portugal) scored the Wildcats' lone team point with a straight set 6-2, 6-4 win over Julie Flanzer at No. 4. She ran her singles mark to a team-best 5-3 and is 4-2 when playing at the No. 4 position.
The 'Cats close out their Northeast trip at Boston on Sunday at 10 a.m.
