UNCG’s Wilkins Captures Individual Crown at Davidson W. Tennis Fall Invitational

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Niltooli Wilkins of UNCG led all point getters with a total of 32 points in this past weekend's Davidson women's tennis Fall Invitational at Covington Tennis Courts.
The invitational was a flight championship for both singles and doubles with each flight carry a weighted point system. The top flight, No. 1, carried eight points and went all the way down to flight No. 8, which carried one point.
Winning all three of her singles matches at the No. 1 flight, Wilkins tallied 24 points while adding another 8 points in doubles. Elon's Jordan Johnston (24 points) and Frida Jansaker (20 points) came in second and third, respectively.
Davidson's freshman Nisha Crouser (Columbus, Ohio) led the wildcats with 10 points including a singles win over Briana Berne of Elon and teamed with junior Stephani Synn (Conover, N.C.) in doubles to defeat Gardner-Webb's flight one team. Other strong performances for the cats were senior Alison Rauh (Trier, Germany) going 2-0 and freshman Elise Held (Butler, Pa.), with wins over UNCG in singles and Elon in doubles.
The Wildcats are not in action now until they travel to play at the Charleston Invitational, Sept. 17-19.
