
Men’s Tennis Sends Four to USC Upstate Fall Classic

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Freshman Ethan Kallick reached the semifinals of the Singles B bracket in his first fall collegiate event to lead the Davidson men's tennis team at the USC Upstate Fall Classic this past weekend.
In addition to Kallick, fellow classmate Connor Evins (Greenville, S.C.) as well as sophomore Kevin Moore (Overland Park, Kan.) and senior Arie Hefter (Birmingham, Ala.) all represented Davidson.
Kallick started his weekend off with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Jenner Stevenson of Augusta to reach the second round. From there, he picked up a 7-5, 6-3 decision to make the semifinals, before falling to Juan Bolona by the count of 6-3, 6-0.
Hefter, Evins and Moore each played in the Singles A bracket, dropping their first matches of the fall season. Hefter fell to Wofford's Tinus Van Wyk, 6-1, 6-3, while Evins dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match and Moore fell by the score of 6-2, 6-2.
In doubles actions, Evins and Kallick teamed up in the Doubles A bracket and lost their first round match, 8-3. Also in the same bracket was the team of Hefter and Moore, who dropped an 8-3 decision to a pair from South Carolina.
Davidson will head to the Southern Intercollegiate this coming weekend in Athens, Ga.
