DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's tennis team will get their fall season underway by hosting the Davidson Fall Classic this weekend, Sept. 3-4, at the Covington Tennis Courts on the campus of Davidson College.
Joining Davidson at the classic will be Gardner-Webb, Elon and UNCG with the first day of play starting on Friday, Sept. 3, at 2 p.m.
This will be the first of two Fall Classics the Wildcats will host as they will also hold another home invite on Oct. 15-16.
Head coach Caroline Price is entering her 29th year at Davidson and has a 376-238 career mark. She helped guide the Wildcats to a 15-8 mark last year, their ninth straight campaign of finishing with a .500 or better record. Seven players return from last year's team, including senior Samantha Galainena and junior Stephani Synn, who combined to go 31-8 in singles play. Five newcomers are part of the 2010-11 squad as well.
