DAVIDSON, N.C. – Alex and Vitaly Radsky extended their respective winning streaks, but Appalachian State claimed the other eight bouts to win 42-8 over Davidson in Southern Conference wrestling action Tuesday night in Varsity Gym.

Junior Alex Radsky (133 pounds) took a major decision over Weston Haney, 14-3, for his third consecutive win and seventh in his last eight bouts. Twin brother Vitaly Radsky (141 pounds) also won via a major decision, defeating Chris Collura, 17-7. He has now won his last four bouts and nine of his last 11.

Both conclude the Southern Conference regular season posting career-best marks. Vitaly concluded conference action with a 4-1 record, while Alex finished at 3-2.

Appalachian State (8-10, 2-2 SoCon) scored four pins, two decisions and two forfeits to take the match. Tony Gravely gave ASU an opening 3-0 lead over Davidson (2-14, 0-5 SoCon) with a decision over freshman Matt Zarth at 125 pounds.

The Radsky wins gave the Wildcats an 8-3 edge, but the Mountaineers would retake the lead for good the very next bout as Savva Kostis scored a pin at 149 pounds. The 'Cats spotted ASU six points at 157 and 174 pounds, and preseason All-Southern Conference selection Kyle Blevins ended sophomore Tyler Mullen's seven-match win streak with a 10-6 decision at 165 pounds. Mullen concludes the SoCon regular season with a career-best 3-1 record.

Preseason All-Southern Conference selection Austin Trotman (184 pounds), Dylan Temple (197) and Ken Altarac (285) each won by falls to conclude the match.

Davidson will finish the regular season with five non-conference dual matches before hosting the Southern Conference Wrestling Championships on Saturday, Mar. 6. Next is a doubleheader Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. in Belk Arena where Davidson will host Anderson and Belmont Abbey.
