DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball team looks to close out the calendar year in winning style when it plays host to Princeton and UNCG at John M. Belk Arena this Wednesday and Friday.
The Opening Tip
The Wildcats (4-4, 0-1 SoCon) start a three-game homestand when they first battle the Princeton Tigers (8-3) on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at 7 p.m., before returning to league play with a matchup against UNCG (5-5, 2-0 SoCon) on Friday, Dec. 31, at 2 p.m.
The All-Time Series/Last Meeting
This will be the first meeting between Davidson and Princeton in each others program history.
As for the series against UNCG, the Spartans hold a 27-13 lead, but Davidson has been on the winning side recently. The 'Cats have scored wins in six of the past eight meetings, including the sweep of last year's two-game series. They took home 67-45 and 83-53 wins last season. The 30-point win at UNCG was the largest winning margin by the Wildcats in the all-time series.
Scouting the Wildcats
•Davidson fell to 8-10 all-time in league openers when it dropped a tough 61-60 road decision at Elon on Monday, Dec. 20, to open up Southern Conference play. It was the Wildcats' first game since Dec. 4, a 16-day break and they saw their three-game win streak snapped.
•The 'Cats were leading 60-58 with 18 seconds left before an Elon player converted on a three-point play for the win.
•Davidson as a team had a season-best 12 steals, led by Sophia Aleksandravicius' five.
