Radskys, Wolff Earn Victories at The Citadel

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Davidson's Vitaly Radsky won the first bout for Davidson, but The Citadel won seven of the nine remaining matches to defeat Davidson, 29-9, in Southern Conference wrestling action Saturday in McAlister Field House.
Vitaly Radsky earned an 8-4 decision over Jordan Dix at 141 pounds to give the 'Cats (0-1, 0-1 SoCon) a 3-0 lead, but The Citadel (2-5, 1-0 SoCon) earned decisions in the 149- and 157-pound bouts to take a 6-3 lead. Junior Tyler Mullen nearly scored a big upset of No. 14 Turtogtokh Luvsandorj at 165 pounds, but Luvsandorj scored a third-period escape to take a 3-2 decision and give The Citadel a 9-3 advantage.
The Citadel claimed the 174- and 184-pound bouts via a fall and a major decision and won by forfeit at 197 pounds.
The Wildcats then won two of the final three bouts. Heavyweight Charlie Wolff won in overtime over Luke Johnson, 5-3. Defending 133-pound Southern Conference Champion Alex Radsky took a convincing decision over Tyler Sim, 10-4.
Davidson will return to action in the New Year, hosting Duke in Belk Arena, Thursday, Jan. 13 at 7 p.m.
