Davidson Wrestling Opens Pennsylvania Trip with Win Over F&M

LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore Ike Crews earned a pin at 184 pounds to lead the Davidson wrestling team to their first dual win of the season, 27-15, over Franklin & Marshall Friday afternoon at Mayser Center.
With the Wildcats (1-1, 0-1 SoCon) holding an 18-9 lead over the Diplomats (0-5, 0-3 EIWA), Crews pinned Matt Latessa in three minutes, 38 seconds to put the match out of reach at 24-9. Davidson forfeited at 197 pounds and heavyweight Charlie Wolff earned a 6-2 decision over Daniel Canfield for the final 27-15 margin.
The 'Cats led from the start as Franklin & Marshall spotted the 'Cats six points at 125 pounds. Jacob Bucha earned a 4-1 decision over Alex Radsky at 133 pounds to cut the lead in half, but the Diplomats spotted the 'Cats another six points at 141 pounds. The teams traded decisions over the next four weights, with Scott Ray (149 pounds) and Tyler Mullen (165 pounds) prevailing for the 'Cats.
Davidson will next compete in the Pitt Duals Sunday, facing Pittsburgh, Drexel and Millersville.
