Freeman Earns Regional Legion Honor

DAVIDSON, N.C. -- After an outstanding tenure with the Cherryville Post 100 American Legion this summer, sophomore Seth Freeman was honored as the best player in North Carolina Area IV.
Freeman became the third straight player from the Cherryville Post 100 to receive the honor, after he helped the team to a third consecutive Area IV title this summer.
Over the season, the catcher batted .354 with three home runs and 31 RBI to help the Post 100 to a Western Division co-regular-season championship. The team won four playoff series and finished fifth in the North Carolina state tournament in Greenville.
In a two-year Legion career, Freeman batted .359 and went 7-2 on the mound with four saves, on Cherryville teams that went 71-19.
