DAVIDSON, N.C. — The Davidson women's basketball heads to Elon on Saturday for a 2 p.m. Southern Conference contest that will be featured on SportSouth.
Davidson (8-14, 7-6 SoCon) is looking to halt its longest losing streak since dropping six straight during the 2001-02 season. The Wildcats dropped their sixth league game last Saturday with an 86-72 setback at Wofford.
Last Saturday's game vs. the Terriers did feature senior Mercedes Robinson reaching the 1,000-point plateau to become the 12th Wildcat in program history to accomplish the feat. She scored 15 points and recorded her 12th double-double of the year with 11 rebounds.
In the Annette Watts era, Davidson has now had six players reach the 1,000-point plateau.
The 'Cats own the all-time series against Elon, 11-4, after scoring a win back on Jan. 3 at John M. Belk Arena.
In their last meeting with Elon (2-21, 0-14 SoCon), the Wildcats had four players reach double digits, including the senior duo of Mandy Halbersleben and Robinson who each picked up double-doubles in the 72-58 win.
Following their trip to Elon, the Wildcats return home to John M. Belk Arena for three straight starting with a 7 p.m. game against UNC Greensboro, Jan. 9.
