JOHNSON CITY, TENN. - Senior Kim Colley set a pair of school records, as the women's track and field team competed at the Niswonger Invitational on the campus of East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tenn., over the weekend.
Colley finished 19th in the 60 meters with a time of 7.99, bettering Chieko Phillips' time of 8.01 from two seasons ago. She also set a new school record with a time of 26.26 (33rd) in the 200 meters, also better than Phillips' previous-record time of 26.46.
The distance runners led the way on the second day of competition, as senior Caroline Sanker turned in the top team finish with a fifth-place time of 10:28.03 in the 3,000 meters (unseeded). Sophomore Heather Conarroe finished 34th in the event with a time of 11:25.55.
Senior Emily King finished 13th in the 5,000 meters (unseeded) with a time of 18:25.41, and freshman Jane Gay took the same place in the unseeded mile with a time of 5:23.90.
The Wildcats will return to competition Feb. 13-14 when they travel to Chapel Hill to compete in the Carolina Classic.
