'Cats Host Wofford & Furman Over Weekend; Wofford Game at 6:30 p.m.

DAVIDSON, N.C. — Coming off a 1-0 road win at The Citadel, the Davidson women's soccer team welcomes Wofford and Furman in two Southern Conferences matches this weekend at Alumni Stadium on Friday and Sunday.
Friday night's game against Wofford is set for 6:30 p.m., bumped up from the original time of 7 p.m.
The Matchup
Davidson looks to keep its hot streak rolling as it has won three of the last four games when it hosts Wofford on Friday, Oct. 16 and then Furman on Sunday, Oct. 18 at Alumni Stadium.
The All-Time Series
Davidson has scored 12 wins in the all-time series against Wofford, holding a 12-3-2 advantage and is currently on a six-game unbeaten streak. The Wildcats trail the series against Furman, 7-16-2, but they have split the last four games with the Paladins.
Scouting the Wildcats
After suffering a four-match losing streak in mid-September, Davidson (6-9, 3-3 SoCon) is back on the winning track with wins in three of the past four games, including a 1-0 road victory at The Citadel last Sunday ... senior Blakely Low netted the game-winner vs. the Bulldogs, her second in the past three games ... she leads the team with five goals and 10 points, both ranking in the top-10 of the SoCon ... fellow senior Kyri Bye-Nagel, a two-time first-team All-SoCon, follows Low with three goals, three assists and nine points ... goalkeeper Jessie Baxa was credited with her second shutout win on Sunday ... the last two games has seen the Wildcats register a combined 45 shots, putting 21 of them on goal ... Davidson ranks first in the league in shots (211) and is tied for fifth in goals (20) ... last year vs. the Terriers, senior Katharine Laco was credited with the game-winning assist ... Davidson is seeking to avenge a 1-0 last-second loss to Furman in the SoCon Tournament last season, the second time in as many seasons the Paladins ended the Wildcats' year ... in the regular season a year ago, the 'Cats took a 3-2 decision against the Paladins, getting goals from Stephanie Gerow, Amanda Flink and the game-winner from Lauren Conner.
Scouting the Terriers
Wofford (3-10-1, 2-3-1 SoCon) is riding a three-game unbeaten streak after dropping seven straight ... the Terriers recently tied Samford, 0-0, last Sunday ... their two wins in league play have come against The Citadel and Chattanooga ... in the those two games, Wofford scored a combined seven goals, scoring three more than it had collected through the first 11 games ... Nikki Siebert leads the team with four goals and two assists for 10 points ... three players are tied for the team-lead with two assists each ... in goal, Erika Christensen has started nine games ... she has recorded 43 saves and has a 1.65 goals against average ... the Terriers returned nine of their 11 starters from a year ago, and 22 letterwinners in all.
Scouting the Paladins
Like Davidson, Furman (9-4-0, 3-3-0 SoCon) has won three of its last four contests, all league wins ... the Paladins latest victory came at Chattanooga, 1-0 ... they sit at 4-2 in road games ... they are tied with Davidson in the SoCon standings ... to open the season, Furman rattled off five straight wins and six in its first seven contests ... Furman plays Georgia Southern on Friday night, before playing at Davidson ... Martha Hall paces a 24-goal Paladin attack with nine goals and 19 points ... Katya Gokhman (4g/3a) and Alexa Jones (5g) also have double digits in points with 11 and 10, respectively ... in goal, Jessica Smith has started all 13 games, recording 46 saves and a 1.00 goals against average ... she has registered all four of the Paladins' shutouts.
