No. 75 Phoenix Halts Wildcat M. Tennis 4-Match Win Streak

ELON, N.C. – The Davidson men's tennis team saw their four-match win streak come to an end when they suffered a 6-1 setback at Elon in Southern Conference action on Wednesday afternoon.
The Wildcats, who were riding their second four-match win streak of the season, dropped to 12-5 overall and lost just its second league match to fall to 5-2. Elon improved to 13-7 overall and 7-1 in SoCon matches. The Phoenix moved into the ITA ranks this week once again at No. 75, dropping Davidson out of the polls.
Junior Scott Myers (West Palm Beach, Fla.) scored the lone Wildcat point with his 15th singles win of the season to just two defeats by earning a victory over Philip Nemec at No. 5. Myers remained perfect in league matches at 7-0.
Davidson did take one of the three doubles matches with senior Flaviu Simihaian (Nasaud, Romania) and junior Ethan Jaffee (Indianapolis, Ind.) taking home an 8-6 win at No. 1 position, but Elon captured the doubles point.
The 'Cats head to Greenville, S.C. for a netural site match against South Carolina State on Apr. 5 at 12 p.m.
