Scouting the Wildcats
Davidson started off the new year in winning fashion, taking home its 12 straight win – sixth straight on the road – against College of Charleston on Wednesday by the score of 66-51. The Wildcats now own a 19-4 record against the Cougars.

In their last meeting against the Catamounts, the Wildcats placed three players in double figures led by Julia Paquette and Danielle Hemerka's 12 points each, but fell behind by 15 in the first half. WCU increased its lead to as many as 22 points in the second half on its way to the 67-56 win.
Scouting the Catamounts
Western Carolina enters play coming off a loss on a buzzer beater at UNC Wilmington on Thursday evening. The Lady Catamounts led by one point, 88-87, with 3.5 seconds remaining when UNCW's Shade Smith hit a desperation shot just inches beyond the three-point line to give the Seahawks a 90-88 win in overtime as time expired.
WCU lost despite having Monique Dawson and Ashley Pellom hit the 20-point mark, and Chevon Keith recording a double-double (15 points/12 rebounds).
Dawson's 20 points pushed her over the 1,000-point mark for her career as she is tied with Brooke Johnson, who has missed the last two games, for the team-lead in scoring with an 11.9 points per g ame average. In Dawson's two contests against the Wildcats last year, she combined to score 27 points and pull in 12 rebounds.

The Catamounts are playing their third road contest of a four-game trip. They are currently 0-2 on the trip and 3-3 overall.
Western Carolina, who won a share of the SoCon regular-season title last year, brings back nine of its 11 letterwinners from that team. Of those nine, four starters are back.
