Wildcats Fall in Conference Opener

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The Davidson wrestling team dropped two matches Sunday, losing 33-9 in its conference opener to UNCG and falling 45-4 to the University of Virginia.
Senior Trebor Clavette was the only Wildcat to win both his matches in the tri-meet. He won an 8-4 decision over Mikal McKee of UNCG at 174 and topped that performance with a 16-5 major decision over Mike Grogan of Virginia to score the only team points Davidson would tally against the Cavaliers.
Sophomore 125-pounder Ben Altman pinned Mitchell Johnson of UNCG at the 3:32 mark in his only action of the day.
The Wildcats return to the mat against SoCon foe VMI Friday, Jan. 25, at 7:30 p.m.
