The Davidson Tennis Court facility is the home of the Wildcat Men's and Women’s tennis teams, in addition to the indoor courts at the Knobloch Indoor Tennis Center next to the Baker Sports Complex.
The new 12-court open air tennis complex, a $1.55 million project, was built and finished in the summer of 2015. The new complex will allow the two teams to play concurrent matches for the first time. The relocation of the tennis courts is made possible in part through the generosity of the Edward M. Armfield, Sr. Foundation.
It replaced the old Covington Tennis Courts, which do not adhere to industry standards and were suffering increasing asphalt fatigue. Half of the courts are equipped with spectator grandstands and the project also included installation of infrastructure for lights, which will be installed at a future date.
