Abby Pyzik enters her third year of coaching as part of the Davidson women’s basketball program. As a member of the Wildcat coaching staff, Pyzik is responsible for film exchange and breakdown, as well as working with the guards on the court.
“Abby brings energy to the office and carries that onto the court,” stated Watts. “She is student of the game and has become confident in her coaching. She is a vital part in helping our team accomplish their goals.”
Pyzik got her first collegiate coaching experience in 2004-05 as a graduate assistant at Oakland City University where she helped the Lady Oaks to an overall record of 17-12 and a third-place showing at the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Tournament.
The native of Westminster, Md., earned her bachelor of science degree in athletic training from Lynchburg College in 2004. Pyzik reached the 1,000-point plateau while a member of the Hornets and earned first team all-conference as well as second-team all-state accolades in her junior and senior campaigns. During her collegiate playing days, Pyzik spent a summer with team “Planet Basketball Play the World,” competing in Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
Pyzik has also been active in summer camps throughout the United States including stops at Duke, Virginia, Missouri, Old Dominion, Connecticut, Slippery Rock, Albright College and of course, Davidson.
