Jesse DiLuzio enters his fifth season on Mike Babst’s staff at Davidson College in 2025, including his second as Associate Head Coach. During his time with the Wildcats, he has helped guide the program through the most successful multi-year stretch in the modern era, highlighted by consistent postseason appearances, player development milestones, and three consecutive top-third national RPI finishes.
In 2025, Davidson finished 9-7-3 against another challenging schedule, earning a #52 RPI — the highest finish in program history since the adoption of the RPI ranking system. The Wildcats hosted an Atlantic 10 Tournament match for the third time in four seasons, becoming one of only three programs in the league to do so during that span. Davidson advanced to the A-10 semifinals before falling to eventual Final Four participant Saint Louis. The season also saw center back Alonzo Clarke sign professionally with FC Tulsa, marking the second consecutive year a Davidson player signed a professional contract.
Beyond his role at Davidson, DiLuzio serves as a U.S. Youth National Team Regional Scout, identifying and evaluating top talent across the Southeast region.
The Wildcats’ rise began in 2023, when Davidson produced one of the strongest seasons in program history, finishing 10-5-1, hosting and winning its first A-10 Tournament match, earning a Top-25 national ranking, and finishing #57 in the RPI. Multiple players earned All-Region honors, and Nico Cavallo became the program’s first MLS SuperDraft selection since 2016. Following the season, DiLuzio was promoted to Associate Head Coach.
Davidson maintained that momentum in 2024, earning another A-10 Tournament appearance while facing one of the nation’s toughest schedules, including six ranked or receiving-votes opponents. The Wildcats finished #78 in the RPI, securing back-to-back top-80 national finishes.
During the 2022 season, Davidson closed the year 6-4-3 over its final 13 matches, including a win over Virginia Tech and consecutive conference victories to end the regular season. That year, Denis Krioutchenkov became the first Freshman All-American in program history after scoring nine goals in his debut season.
DiLuzio joined the Davidson staff in 2021, helping the Wildcats to a 9-7-2 record and an Atlantic 10 Tournament quarterfinal appearance. The team earned wins over nationally ranked High Point and Rhode Island and achieved its first Top-25 ranking since 2014.
Prior to Davidson, DiLuzio spent two seasons as a graduate assistant at the University of Louisville, contributing to a Cardinals team that advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16 in 2019. During his time in Louisville, he helped develop MLS draft selections Cherif Dieye, Elijah Amo, and Lamine Conte, while also serving as a head coach within the Louisville City Academy during the club’s inaugural professional academy season.
A former team captain at Centre College, DiLuzio helped lead the program to its first Southern Athletic Association championship. He holds a master’s degree in Sport Administration, a U.S. Soccer B License, and continues to pursue advanced coaching education.
