Molly Jones is in her second season as assistant coach for Davidson College. Jones handles the sprints, jumps, throws, hurdles, and multi event coaching duties for the 'Cats.

In her first season at Davidson, Jones helped coach a talented bunch of young Wildcats to outstanding performances at the Atlantic 10 Outdoor Championship. On the men's side, Brady Logan earned the shot put conference crown with a new school record mark. Sean Caveney scored in both hurdle events at A-10's and earned an entry into the NCAA East Preliminary Round, while James Davis scored in the pole vault.

Jones opened her first outdoor campaign with a new school record from Carly Peters at the Charlotte 49er Classic, shattering an 18 year old record set in 1999. After just one season on campus, Peters owns the seven best javelin marks of all-time and placed third at the A-10 Championship. For her efforts, Peters competed at the NCAA East Preliminary Round. Jones also proved instrumental in grooming Makayla Binters to a program record and top-eight finish in the heptathlon at A-10's.

Coach Jones came to Davidson following a three-year stint with the University of Iowa. While with the Hawkeyes she coached pole vault, high jump, and multi-events, including the heptathlon and decathlon. Jones guided four multi-event athletes to personal-bests and spots on the program's list of all-time top 10 performers.

In 2016, she helped Will Dougherty set the school record in the decathlon and Kevin Spejcher win the Big Ten outdoor title in the high jump. Dougherty's score of 7,311 earned him a fifth place finish at the Big Ten championships, the highest ever for a Hawkeye decathlete, and a spot at the NCAA Outdoor Championships - Iowa's first in program history.

In her first season at Iowa, Jones led Khanishah Williams to a Big Ten title in the women's high jump, and helped Kevin Spejcher place runner-up at the conference championship. Both student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships for the first time in their careers.

Prior to joining the Hawkeyes, Jones spent two seasons as a volunteer coach at Florida State. From 2011-13, she assisted with short sprints, jumps, multi-events and javelin. Jones worked with six NCAA All-Americans, and helped guide the Seminoles to ACC titles in 2012 and 2013. She also assisted in coaching nine conference champions and five Olympians during her time in Tallahassee.

Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Princeton University in 2006 and a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology from Florida State in 2012.

She is a certified sports nutritionist from the International Society of Sports Nutrition and earned her USTFCCCA Technical Coaches Certification in 2012.

In July 2013, she added the USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy Jump Specialist Certification and since became certified in the combined events and sprints, hurdles, and relays.
