• 2021 Atlantic 10 All-Academic Selection
• NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient
2020-21 (Senior): Earned Atlantic 10 All-Academic Team honors • Received a prestigious NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship • At the A-10 Championships, swam to fifth in the 200 breast in 2:00.88 and sixth in the 400 IM (3:59.67) • Also reached the A-10 finals in the 200 IM • Swam on the 800 free relay that placed fifth in the A-10.
2019-20 (Junior): Placed sixth in the A-10 in the 400 IM (3:57.71) and seventh in the 200 breast (2:02.23) • At the Bucknell Invitational, placed fifth in the 200 breast.
2018-19 (Sophomore): Turned in two top-6 finishes at the A-10 championships and climbed the program’s all-time performers list in three events • Finished fifth in the 200 breaststroke at A-10s with a time of 2:00.12, which is second in the Davidson record book • Placed sixth in the A-10 in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:56.93, which is third on the Davidson list • Moved into eighth on the 200 IM list with an A-10 preliminary time of 1:52.41 • At Bucknell in November, placed sixth in the 200 breaststroke, won the B final of the 400 IM and qualified for the C finals in the 200 IM and the 100 breast.
2017-18 (Freshman): Competed in nine meets in mostly the breaststroke and IM events… finished 11thoverall in the 200 breast, recording the fifth-best time in program history (2:02.95) at the Atlantic 10 Championships… also ranks 5thon the all-time list in the 400 IM after a 4:01.39 clip at A-10s and turned in the ninth-best time in the 200 IM (1:53.31).
Before Davidson: Four-year letterman in both swimming and golf at TC Roberson High School... named captain of the swim team in 2017... two-time NCHSAA state finalist in 100 breast and 200 IM in both 2016 and 2017... YMCA National Meet finalist in 200 breast, 100 breast, 400 IM.... helped lead Roberson to a MAC men's conference championship for four consecutive years, bringing the streak to 14 in a row... holds four school records.
Personal: Son of Bernie and Sue Stanek... Born on December 22, 1998... Father Bernie was a golfer at Washington & Jefferson College... cousin Zach Dionise also attends Davidson... has one sister, Gracie... planning to study economics.
