Comments from Coach Spear
“We are excited to have Joel join our program’s mission of impacting the players’ development and elevating the team’s standards of excellence,” said Spear. “I have known Joel for many years and I have always been impressed by his professionalism, communication skills and conviction. Plus his perspectives working with the pro level will certainly give us new, valuable insights because we like the players are always learning, evolving and striving.”
Comments from Tyson
"Prior to joining the Charlotte Independence, I spent several years coaching at the college level. The enjoyment of developing and growing those players and more importantly, the relationships with those players, make college soccer such a unique environment. This opportunity at Davidson allows me that access again and also allows me the opportunity to continue my growth as a coach by being able to work with a great program and great staff. Coach Spear has been a staple in the College soccer community for so long and I look forward to working with him."
