Jeff Bilyk enters his third season as an assistant coach on the Davidson men’s soccer staff.
"Jeff's experience as a big-time college and pro player is an amazing contribution for our program," said Head Coach Matt Spear. "He's played at such a premier level, and that provides immediate respect and attention from the players. They look up to him and feed off his levels of intensity and performance."
An All-American at Clemson, Bilyk played three seasons on Major League Soccer’s (MLS) Miami Fusion FC from 1999-2001.
Along with his long list of playing accomplishments, which includes All-American, All-South and All-Conference recognition, Bilyk was a member of Clemson’s student-athlete Honor Roll while receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Marketing.
Following a successful collegiate career, Bilyk enjoyed professional playing stints with the Miami Fusion of the MLS (1999-2001) and the United Soccer League’s Milwaukee Rampage (2002) and Virginia Beach Mariners (2003-06). In his his final season with the Mariners he was named the club’s MVP.
Jeff was persuaded out of retirement and played for the USL's Charlotte Eagles for the 2008 season.
Bilyk has been coaching ODP (Olympic Development Program) soccer for several years and holds a United States Soccer Federation “B” Coaching Certification. Outside of his coaching duties at Davidson College, Jeff serves as a director and a staff coach with North Mecklenburg Youth soccer club.
Jeff, his wife Angela and their daughter Addyson reside in nearby Mooresville, N.C.
