2006: Split time with Robby Goldsberry as the Wildcats’ starting keeper ... Ranked among league leaders in saves with 36 ... recorded his sixth career shutout in Davidson’s 3-0 blanking of Loyola ... keyed the ’Cats three-game winning streak to get them back to .500 early in the campaign ... currently second on Davidson’s all-time list for GAA.
2005: Started all 21 games in net recording a 1.18 GAA, which ranks him fifth in school-history on the single-season charts … he also cracked the record books (sixth) posting five shutouts … finished ranked third among SoCon goalkeepers in shutouts … first career blanking came in a 2-0 win over UNCW … recorded a career-high five saves in a 1-0 triumph over UCF … followed his performance against the Golden Knights with a 3-0 shutout of Jacksonville two days later … also held three opponents in conference matches scoreless, including a 1-0 win over Wofford in the opening round of the SoCon Tournament.
2004: Ashton was able to see some playing time in three contests as a rookie and get a victory in his first collegiate start over Mercer.
Prep / Personal: An all-conference player for the three years at North Cross School … a member of the Virginia State ODP team which was the regional champion in 2000 and a semifinalist in 2001 … an all-state honoree was also the starting keeper for nine straight years on his club team, the Roanoke Star Youth Soccer Club … a member of the 2006 and 2007 Virginia Beach PDL ... Studied in Valencia, Spain for his Spring 2007 semester.
